Baby Casting - Precious Keepsakes Of Your Little One


				What could be more special than your childs hand or footprints preserved forever as a piece of artwork? At Paint The Plate we have a variety of methods to capture that precious moment as a keepsake to treasure for a lifetime.

				Life Casting
				A 3D baby hand or foot casting is the ultimate memento of your little one. The process captures the exact size of their little hands and feet along with every last detail - the skin texture, their little nails and each crease and wrinkle. To create the sculpture, first we take a cast. This is done by placing the child’s foot or hand in a setting solution used widely by dental surgeries. It doesn’t matter if your child wriggles and they don’t have to be asleep, it only takes about a minute. We then use this cast to create the final sculpture. These can be finished as stand-alone plaster, bronze or resin sculptures engraved with words of your choice such as your child’s name and age, or framed as a pair using a number of framing options. Casts can be taken from a child as young as four weeks old.







				Plaster Outprints
				To take the impression, we take the child’s hand or foot and press it into soft terracotta clay, this is pain-free and over in a matter of seconds. We then use the impression to make the final cast. These can be finished in a wide range of hand-made bespoke frames and mounts. Impressions can be taken from a baby of eight weeks old up to a child aged ten years old.


				Hand or Foot-Printing with Paint
